This is a 12 month post funded through the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Governments private rented sector access scheme.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with the skills and knowledge to develop the council’s ability to address housing need in Norwich through accessing accommodation in the private rented sector for our clients.

As well as developing relationships with letting agents and landlords, the post-holder will provide a personalised service to a caseload of clients, working with clients to prevent their homelessness by maintaining or securing accommodation in the private rented sector.

You must have excellent negotiation skills and the ability to deal sensitively with clients in difficult and often pressurised circumstances. You should be able to produce written work to a consistently high standard and be able to understand and apply legislation accurately.

You should be a confident, positive and capable individual who is able to think creatively to solve problems, can demonstrate initiative and has the ability to develop projects to enhance our private rented sector offering.

Some knowledge of landlord and tenant law is desirable but we will provide training as necessary for successful candidates on relevant areas of housing and related legislation.
