We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our busy housing advice team delivering a frontline service to clients with complex housing problems.

Our service provides genuine alternative options to homelessness through the provision of specialist advice.  In this vital role, you won’t just deal with homelessness when it happens, you will proactively seek to prevent it.

The primary function of this role is to provide a high quality service to a caseload of clients who are facing homelessness. The work is varied but will include interviewing clients, liaising with other agencies, report writing, acting as an advocate, lobbying or mediating on a client's behalf and providing legal advice.

Key to success in this role is the ability to work constructively and creatively to help clients meet their housing needs. You should have an empathic and positive approach combined with a good understanding of the housing needs of vulnerable people who are threatened with homelessness and the options available to them.

You will need to demonstrate proven negotiation and advocacy skills necessary to attain positive outcomes for clients. The ability to manage conversations and customer expectations effectively is crucial.

This is a specialist role, requiring a sound knowledge of housing and homelessness. Previous housing or advocacy experience at a professional level is essential as is the ability to produce written work to a high standard.

You should be an individual with significant relevant experience who is able to work independently and creatively to solve problems to deliver this key role.
